Little Camp Slocan

At the centre of everything in the middle of nowhere.

Little Camp Slocan is an off-grid backcountry campground located at the foot of the Valhalla Mountains, and far out from the ordinary - for those seeking simple adventure with a bit of comfort.

Whether you’re here to explore or slow down, Little Camp Slocan makes an ideal base. We’re located in the Little Slocan Valley, along the Little Slocan River, on the Little Slocan Forest Service Road. We keep things intentionally simple, with limited infrastructure and a strong respect for the land.

The Facilities

Our central gathering space and main campground service building, what we affectionately call Downtown, has all the big city campground services you might need. Here you’ll find flush toilets, hot showers, filtered and UV-treated (though still legally non-potable) water, Wi-Fi, power outlets, games to borrow, and the campground store. In the evenings there might be a fire, live music or new friends with a story that suddenly becomes your plan for tomorrow (sometimes all three).

The Sites

Most sites are un-serviced, but we've tried to build something for every camping style — from walk-in forest tent spots and drive-up tenting to small RVs and trailers (no hookups), plus fully furnished stays. Three semi-serviced accessible sites offer 15-amp power and water. Where ever you land, expect a thoughtfully crafted space that balances privacy and community, wild nature and Ease.

On-Site Activities

Fast or slow, it’s all right here, no driving necessary. Spend your day in the hammock, by the river, take an easy stroll to the beaver dams, or explore the essentially limitless crown land to see waterfalls, open mountain meadows and walk in the footsteps of the deer, elk, bears and moose that also call this valley home. In the evenings, come downtown, bring your friends and share your adventures with some new ones around the campfire under the stars.
